I stayed here for a night this week whilst working in Lowestoft, my company usually book me into the purple themed hotels which are all over the country but they were all booked up so they booked me into here. Really friendly and helpful host on check in, I was in the army and I liked seeing all the armed forces memorabilia and uniforms. There is a snooker table and 2 nice living rooms so people don't have to be stuck in their rooms if they don't want to be, there is also a nice dining/function room which has a nice bar, my room was comfortable and clean with a sea view. The breakfast was really nice as well. I have given some feedback back to my company and said I would like to stay here again then next time I am working in the Lowestoft area. Definitely recommend, great staff and a great place and they also do a lot for the local veterans community hosting once a month breakfasts for them. Keep up the great work and I look forward to staying again next time I'm in Lowestoft. Thank you.

Just returned home after a short 2 night stay, but what a wonderful place. It is a retreat for serving members and veterans of HM Forces and blue light services. Rooms are clean and tidy and have your basic needs beds are really comfortable. Breakfast is cooked by Andy and he didn't do a bad job for a Matelot . The whole place is full of memorabilia and various uniforms from all services plenty of books to read or DVDs to watch, there is a snooker table if you wish and an Honesty bar for your drinks. There is a regular Veterans breakfast on a Saturday morning which is very well attended (about 80 odd when we were there). The views from the sea view rooms are fantastic, we were room 9. We will definately be back as all the staff were so friendly and made us feel welcome. As a bonus, if you hold a Defence discount card, military ID or a Blue light card a discount is available on room rates.

A very warm welcome and friendly service. Rooms are warm, well furnished and comfortable. Breakfast is freshly cooked and served piping hot. Free parking along tge seafront location. Plenty of places to eat and drink nearby with discounts for guests agreed with many. A fantastic place to stay, especially if you have any interest in the history of the armed forces - there is an incredible amount of fascinating military memorabilia on display due to the primary nature of the building.

I have stayed here before, new management have taken over and it is much improved. Staff could not have been more welcoming. Excellant location, great view of the sea. Good value. Lovely breakfast and evening meal. The addition of a well stocked bar is an added bonus. I can also recommend the Sunday carvery also open to non residents. Short walk for a swim in the sea, with hot showers by the ablutions block. Lovely walks along coast and to the harbour and town centre.

Fantastic location, wonderful staff, amazing decorations and memorabilia that we could have spent hours looking at. Our only issue was the bed, as the mattress had clearly given up the ghost. Other than that, a delightful stay and we will most likely be back again.

We had 2 nights here and feel very privileged to have done so. I could give some negative comments but I would not want to put anyone off. The hotel is a living museum paying tribute to the British forces over the last couple of centuries. To see more go on their website and see the photos. And then book a room. Take a fan, our room was very hot. We loved it and would highly recommend a stay.

Absolutely loved our stay here. It was the 1st bed and breakfast were it actually felt homely and that you could use the living areas! Each room had a different theme so you was encouraged to go through and look at all the memorabilia and read more about the history. We particularly liked the 3/4 snooker table and cd player in the lounge as well as the honesty bar! The service was brilliant and breakfast was good with plenty of options. Our room had a sea view and was very comfy the only slight negative was the shower was lacking pressure Would Absolutely stay again!
